Musings of an Unemployed Customer Support Engineer

Go Forth

I’m taking a union break at the moment (Ha ha ha…)…

It’s the Fourth of July, but I still have homework and projects and they won’t do themselves…

Yesterday in class, one of my classmates sold me HARD on the ease and convenience of using Atom.  The past few times that we’ve had partner programming in class, I’ve been paired up with someone using Sublime.  It seemed easier, but I really wasn’t seeing anything drastically different from what I was doing with Atom.  But maybe I’m just not seeing the difference since I haven’t been coding that long?

I’m also still finding my way around on a Mac after being a PC user for so long.  I’m trying to keep my Documents organized, but got frustrated after not being able to find a file.  One of my classmates offered to show me his workflow and walked me through his process.  The big thing I took away from his mini tutorial is that I’m really not using all the features available in Atom, and I have to learn more about getting around in Terminal. Like, HOLY CRAP, I didn’t know you could open Atom from there!!

In the past couple of days, I have noticed a more concerted effort from my classmates, to partner up with someone different.  I have also noticed more of us being vocal about asking for help, even if we’re not sure what we need help with.  It’s cool, I’m guilty of it, too.  We’re finding words, folks!

Anyway… back to work!
